We are delighted to host members of the travel health insurance industry and affiliated organizations and associations operating in eastern Canada at our first East Coast Travel Industry Reception in New Brunswick. Jennifer Sutherland Green, Director & Senior Legal Counsel, Insurance, Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB)

Jennifer Sutherland Green joined the Financial and Consumer Services Commission in 2014 as Deputy Director & Senior Legal Counsel, Pensions. In July 2018, her role was expanded to include Insurance.  In June 2019, Jennifer was appointed Director & Senior Legal Counsel, Pensions & Insurance.  In June 2022, FCNB changed its structure with Pensions & Insurance becoming separate divisions and at that time, Jennifer became Director & Senior Legal Counsel, Insurance. Prior to joining FCNB, Jennifer practiced in a variety of roles in the labour and employment law sector.

Jennifer obtained her BA (Honours) in Economics from Queen’s University in 1994, her MA in Economics from Université Laval in 1996, her LLB from the University of New Brunswick in 1999, and her LLM from Osgoode in 2011.  She is a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick and the Canadian Bar Association.

Jennifer is active in her community and among other volunteer positions, she currently serves as President of the UNB Associated Alumni.

Mario Beaudoin, Director, Supervision – Emerging Risks, Autorité des marchés financiers

Mr. Beaudoin has been active in the insurance industry since 1997. Before he joined the Autorité des marchés financiers in 2004, he worked for major insurers in the development, promotion and sale of disability insurance products as well as managing the claim sector for these products. Since 2006, Mr. Beaudoin’s team conducts surveillance activities related to products offered through the Distribution Plan Without A Representative as well as over the internet since the regulation came into force in 2019; Travel insurance being a predominant product offered through these channels. 

Mr. Beaudoin has also been involved in different working groups at the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators.

Since the fall of 2024, he has been the director of emerging risks monitoring. His team conducts monitoring and surveillance work, particularly related to climate risks, artificial intelligence, and geopolitics.
