Fully vaccinated Americans and permanent residents residing in the US will be able to visit Canada without having to quarantine for two weeks as of August 9 at 12:01 a.m. ET. The federal government plans to  open Canada's borders to any fully vaccinated travellers from other countries on September 7, 2021.

Children under 12 who aren't yet approved to receive a vaccine will also be exempt from the quarantine requirement but they, like others, are expected to follow public health guidelines.
